Why Meal Prep?

Getting your meals ready ahead of time, called meal prepping, is really helpful before getting pregnant. It makes sure you eat a good mix of healthy foods, which is important for your health before having a baby. Also, it can help you lose weight or avoid getting too heavy by controlling how much you eat and picking good ingredients. If you're busy during the day, planning your lunches and snacks ahead of time can keep you from eating unhealthy stuff.

Some useful tips for meal prep are: 

 

  1. Set a time of the week for meal prep.

  2. Use all the food groups, have your pantry and fridge stocked up with all food groups

  3. Have storage containers ready 

  4. Try sheet pan recipes 

  5. Make extra dinner meat/chicken/fish to pack for lunch salads. 

  6. Make soups in batches and freeze in mason jars.

  7. Buy healthy and easy to carry snacks from the grocery store for example : plain greek yogurt cups, hummus cups, peanut butter cups etc.

  8. Buy fruits and vegetables that doesn't require any preparation to eat like baby carrots, apples, grapes, bananas, baby cucumbers, baby sweet papers to pack in your lunch bag.
